New England Revolution starting goalkeeper Djordje Petrović, a top contender for 2023 Major League Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year, has quickly become synonymous with donuts after one year with the Revolution. After every donut on the scoresheet – or shutout – the team records, Petrović stops by Dunkin to purchase a few dozen assorted for his teammates to celebrate their clean sheet.
In celebration of National Donut Day, Petrović worked a one-hour shift at the first and original Dunkin location in Quincy, Mass. on Thursday morning (June 1), serving customers and meeting fans hours after returning home from the Revolution’s 3-3 draw at Atlanta United on Wednesday.
