On Wednesday evening, Borussia Dortmund played the second test match of its preparation at regional league team RW Oberhausen. The runners-up scored a narrow 3:2 win at the ambitious fourth-division team. The BVB, which started without any newcomers or internationals, fell behind early through Cottrell Ezekwem (7.). Marco Reus (14.) equalized, Antonios Papadopoulos (49.) initially turned the match in Borussia’s favor. A long-range shot by Manfredas Ruzgis (69th) gave Oberhausen a deserved 2:2, before Samuel Bamba (90th) secured victory for BVB with the last action of the match.
