Walter Mazzarri guided Napoli in their claim to fame from 2009 to 2013. After the Maradona years, Napoli’s performances progressively dropped and eventually the Partenopei eventually ended up in the third division. After climbing back to Serie A and a couple of mediocre seasons, Mazzarri was appointed at the helm and took Napoli back to the heights of their golden years, qualifying twice for the Champions League and twice for the Europa League, finishing in second place in 2013 | Serie A 2023/24
