FC Bayern beat Mainz 4-0 on Wednesday night to progress to the DFB Cup round of 16. Jamal Musiala was the hero of the day, bagging a hat-trick in the first half, with Leroy Sané netting the third of the four goals.
Bayern lined up with Manuel Neuer in goal and Konrad Laimer, Eric Dier, Minjae Kim and Alphonso Davies in defence. João Palhinha and Joshua Kimmich anchored a midfield featuring Sané, Musiala and Serge Gnabry, with Harry Kane as the target man. Thomas Müller and Mathys Tel replaced Musiala and Kane at half-time, with Leon Goretzka, Raphaël Guerreiro and Arijon Ibrahimović coming on for Kim, Davies and Dier in the second half.
