A little more than 40 years ago, Bayern Munich visited Goodison Park for the second leg of a European Cup Winners’ Cup semi-final, with a place in the final in Rotterdam up for grabs.
Everton had travelled to Munich two weeks earlier and secured a goalless draw ahead of the return clash, in front of a crowd of nearly 50,000.
