Everton fended off a determined Stoke City fightback to earn a win courtesy of Tim Cahill’s header in September 2008. Yakubu and Victor Anichebe had given the Blues the lead before the hosts fought back, only for Cahill to net the winner and get David Moyes’ men all three points.
